First Step Celebrates it 25th Year
On April 15, 2006 First Step celebrated its 25th year serving Wood, Wyandot, Sandusky, and Seneca counties. The agency commemorated its 25 years with an anniversary gala celebration. The event took place at Camden Falls in Tiffin and was themed after 1920’s high society. Called “Puttin’ on the Ritz” the celebration featured Larry Whatley of WTOL Toledo as keynote speaker. Other events included the premiere of a documentary entitled “Moonwalking: 25 Years of First Step” and big band music performed by a 20 piece orchestra from Findlay called Night Jazz. Mr. Whatley’s message touched on the importance of healthy families to the community and the importance of having agencies such as First Step as a resource for families. The documentary chronicled the past 25 years of First Step through testimony of past and present board members, clients, staff, and friends of the agency. About 75 people were at the event, which had representatives from throughout the agency’s service area. Here are just a few pictures of the evening's festivities. |
