The 13th annual Soul Shine Blues Festival is proud to welcome Hubert Sumlin and Henry Gray to this year's stage. The festival takes place 2-10 p.m. Sept. 27, rain or shine in the Meadowbrook Park Ballroom, Bascom, Ohio.

Soul Shine will also feature the music of the Soul Shine Blues Band as the opening act. Admission for this year's festival is $20 and tickets are available before the festival or at the gate. Soul Shine will also feature its signature Southern cooking, raffle items, and our theme basket silent auction.

First Step has always prided itself in having only the most authentic and renowned blues artists at Soul Shine. But this year we have outdone ourselves. There are only a few remaining blues artists who can legitimately be seen as "originators". These are the legends of the blues pantheon who have left their indelible mark on the blues art form. This year at Soul Shine we have not one but two "originators". Hubert Sumlin and Henry Gray are linked not only by their stature in the blues world but also by their musical history. Both Hubert and Henry were band mates along with Howlin' Wolf until 1968. Both have gone on to have fruitful and respected careers of their own, but this year at Soul Shine we will summon the spirit of Howlin' Wolf to little ol' Bascom, OH. Come prepared to bask in the light and history of two world renowned bluesmen. Join us in making this the best Soul Shine ever.
